A quick and easy side dish, this spinach curry recipe uses a blended mix of onions to give it a great consistency. Spinace curry recipe is as follows:-
Ingredients for Spinach Curry Recipe
- 1 x 250g bag of fresh spinach
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 Thumb of ginger
- 2 tbsp Oil (or ghee)
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 1 tsp of ground corriander
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp single creme
Method for Spinach Curry Recipe
- Blend onion, garlic and ginger to a paste
- Heat oil and fry cumin seeds until golden brown
- Add onion paste and fry for around 5 minutes
- Add turmeric & spinach and heat for a further 5 minutes stirring regularly
- Finally stir in coriander, tomato puree and garam masala and cook on medium for 20 minutes
- Add creme and serve

Thanks for putting up this recipe. Two things, though. How much spinach is in a bag? I assumed 10 ounces. How much turmeric? You have it listed in the directions, but not in the ingredients list.

Why no salt is added to this curry?
Hi Leeji, Thank you for your comment on the spinach curry recipe. Honestly, I don’t think this recipe needs it. BUT at the end of the day I’m a firm believer in cooking to your own tastes – if you prefer to add salt then, by all means, do it!
